John Phillips is a seasoned design professional with extensive experience in user experience research and design strategy. Currently serving as Design Operations Lead at Steampunk, Inc. since February 2024, John previously held the position of Principal UX Researcher & Experience Strategist at Phillips Design from February 2023 to February 2024. Prior to that, John was Senior Director of UX & Design Research at Material from November 2019 to May 2023, leading innovation and overseeing design research. John's career includes significant roles at Kelton Global, starting from January 2011 to November 2019, and a designer position at Bernhardt Design from September 2009 to January 2011, where John co-designed the Serif table.
