Maarten Doorman serves as the Chair of Committees at both the Mondriaanfonds and the Nederlands Fonds voor de Podiumkunsten since early 2023 and January 2024, respectively. At NRC, Maarten Doorman has been a contributor since April 2018, and at the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, serves as a member of the Supervisory Board since December 2018. Maarten Doorman holds the position of Endowed Professor at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, focusing on the Historical Culture of Germany in the Faculty of Humanities, with emeritus status effective July 2024. Academic contributions also include a longstanding tenure at Maastricht University in the Department of Philosophy from September 1988 to June 2024, along with past roles at UvA and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Maarten Doorman holds a Master's degree in Philosophy from the University of Amsterdam and completed secondary education at Het Baarnsch Lyceum.
