Chris Kary

Structural Welder / Nuclear Welder at Steel America

Chris Kary is an experienced structural and nuclear welder, currently employed at Steel America since January 2012, specializing in MIG, Flux Core, and SMAW welding for commercial nuclear projects, particularly as a sub-leased welder to NNI Fort Eustis. Prior experience includes roles at Trillium Construction Services, where Chris contributed to the installation of bulkheads and ventilation on the USS Ford CVN-78, and at Huntington Ingalls Industries, focused on installing ventilation ducting on the USS Roosevelt and structural welding for the USS Ford. Chris began a career in welding while serving in the US Navy from July 2000 to December 2004 as a Jet Mechanic and Welder, performing maintenance and repairs on jet engines and assisting with ship weld repairs. Chris has pursued formal education in welding at Lincoln Electric Welding School and studied at Glendale Community College and Grand Canyon University.
