Ashwath Sampath

Ashwath Sampath has a diverse work experience in various roles. Ashwath is currently working as a Python Data Engineer at SteelEye since March 2021. In this role, they are a senior member of the Data Integration division of the Data Engineering team, responsible for designing and creating ETL flows using Python, Pandas, Prefect, and Elasticsearch. Ashwath collaborates with product specialists, QA, and customer support associates in an Agile team.

Prior to their current role, Ashwath worked as a Research Assistant (HiWi) at The University of Freiburg from June 2018 to April 2019. Ashwath provided comprehensive research support to the Databases and Info. Systems department, including data analysis, system development, writing/editing, and other computer science-related assignments. Ashwath also supported professors with writing and editing academic papers.

Ashwath also has experience as a System Engineer at Cerner Corporation from September 2015 to July 2016. In this role, they provided system implementation, technical support, monitoring, and maintenance of Cerner's solutions and services. Ashwath performed daily system operations including ETL development, data mapping, and data integration.

Before that, Ashwath worked at Dell as an Svc IT Dev program Sr Assoc-II from July 2013 to August 2015. Ashwath transformed clients' data into tangible business value by analyzing information, communicating outcomes, and collaborating on product development. Ashwath designed and developed ETL routines for high volumes of financial clients and collaborated with cross-functional agile project teams.

In addition, Ashwath had an internship with a national newspaper in India, The New Indian Express, in the sports desk from May 2013 to June 2013. During the internship, they wrote and edited articles, designed news pages, and conducted interviews with sports players and administrators.

Ashwath Sampath has a strong educational background in computer science. Ashwath earned a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree with a major in Computer Science from Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology, where they studied from 2009 to 2013. Ashwath furthered their education by pursuing a Master's degree in Computer Science at The University of Freiburg from 2016 to 2019. Additionally, Ashwath obtained a Nanodegree in Data Engineering from Udacity in 2020. Ashwath also holds a certification in Faster Python Code, which they obtained from LinkedIn in February 2020.
