Hurley Doddy

Hurley Doddy is the current advisor at SteelSky Ventures and has over 20 years of experience in the private equity industry. Hurley is the founder and CEO of Emerging Capital Partners (ECP), a leading Africa-focused private equity firm. At ECP, Mr. Doddy overseas the strategic direction, investment process, and regulatory and ESG compliance. Hurley also chairs the Investment and Valuation Committees. With seven funds and over $3 billion under management, ECP is a leading private equity manager focused exclusively on Africa.

Before their work at ECP, Mr. Doddy was an independent director at Sixth Street. Sixth Street is an investment company that is engaged in middle-market lending in the United States. The company has an investment objective to generate both current income and capital appreciation by targeting investment opportunities with favorable risk-adjusted returns. Sixth Street manages over $50 billion in assets and has more than 320 team members including over 145 investment professionals in nine global locations.

Mr. Doddy has also served as an executive director at Sumitomo Finance International. Hurley has a total of 22 years and 10 months of experience in the private equity industry.

Hurley Doddy has a BA from Princeton University in Economics, which they received cum laude in 1984. Hurley also has an education from Sidwell Friends School, which they attended from 1974 to 1981. Additionally, they are a Chartered Financial Analyst Charterholder from the CFA Institute.
