Arielle Chu

VP of Operations & Licensing at Steep Hill

Arielle Chu has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Arielle started their career as a Lecturer in the Anthropology Department at Humboldt State University, where they co-developed and taught the first Chinese Mandarin language class. Arielle also collaborated with professors and senior administration in organizing visits of Chinese academic and government dignitaries.

Following this, Arielle worked as an English Language Teacher at Guangxi University, where they developed undergraduate level syllabus and taught various courses. Arielle also created and taught the first adult education English class for factory workers and mature students.

Arielle then joined Worldwide Dragon Flying Enterprises as an International Division Coordinator, importing industrial kitchen and restaurant equipment from the USA. Arielle also hosted and organized a visit by the Nebraska State Governor and translated equipment manuals into Chinese.

After that, Arielle worked at Disney Consumer Products as a Disney Travel Products Merchandise Coordinator. Arielle'sresponsibilities included managing creative quality compliance among US, European, and Asian licensees, and collaborating with IT to design specifications for the Product Development Tracking System.

Following their role at Disney, Arielle established and co-owned the first boutique bed and breakfast in the historic Albayzin district of Granada called Lagualuz Bed & Breakfast. Arielle gained experience in various aspects of the business, including customer reception, reservations, financials, and marketing.

Arielle then joined Alain Ganancia Cosmetics/Amifar as an Export Manager. Despite their title remaining the same throughout their tenure, they took on additional responsibilities as their understanding of the skincare industry, the company, and the Spanish language grew.

In 2016, Arielle joined Amifar Laboratories USA as the Export & North American New Business Development professional.

Finally, Arielle worked at Steep Hill, initially as a Licensee Manager, where they collaborated with the Global Expansion EVP to increase market share and acted as a liaison between licensees and the ISO-17025 Quality Management team. Arielle then served as the Director of Licensing, negotiating agreements and expanding market share to include exclusive contracts for four states. Finally, Arielle became the VP of Operations & Licensing, overseeing operations and licensing strategies for the company. Arielle also played a pivotal role in architecting a turnkey lab deployment system for licensee partners.

Arielle Chu's education history includes a Bachelor's Degree obtained from the University of California, Berkeley in East Asian Studies. Arielle also pursued a Master's Degree in Management & International Trade Management (Dirección y Gestión de Comercio Internacional) from Escuela de Organización Industrial, studied from 2002 to 2003. Prior to that, they attended Boston University from 1987 to 1989, although the degree obtained and field of study during this period is unknown.
