Hugh Jones

Hugh is a dynamic and results-focused leader of consultancy teams and CEO of Steer. He has 20 years of experience and specializes in providing commercial and transactional advice to governments, investors, and operators.

Hugh has supported many of the recent rail sector transactions in the UK, leading the development and procurement of numerous franchises and rolling stock procurements. His recent experience includes the development of risk-sharing arrangements for rail franchises and the full commercial review of concession agreements on behalf of sponsors. During his time at Steer, Hugh has advised the private sector in directing bids as well as providing commercial advice to both Eurostar and HS2 Limited and has particular expertise in high-speed rail and associated competition issues.
