Vikas Yadava, P.Eng. PMP. MBA. First Class PE/OE

Vikas Yadava, P.Eng. PMP. MBA. First Class PE/OE has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Vikas is currently working as the Area Manager- Operations, Maintenance Servcs & Utilities / Chief Operating Engineer at STELCO - The Steel Company of Canada. In this role, they are responsible for managing a 250 MW First Class Power Plant and a newly commissioned 68 MW Co-Generation Plant. Vikas also oversees the Stelco LEW facility, which includes 6 High Pressure Multi-fuel Boilers, 79 Steam Turbines, and a large network of steam piping and equipment. Additionally, Vikas has regulatory responsibility for managing over 100+ Power/Operating Engineers & Steam Turbine Operators at the facility.

Prior to their current role, Vikas served as the Chief Engineer / Operations Manager at Covanta from 2017 to 2021. Vikas also worked as a Plant Manager/Chief Engineer at Emerald Energy from Waste and Emerald Energy EFW (formerly Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp) in 2017. From 2006 to 2015, they worked as a First Class Power Engineer & P.Eng at Capital Power. Before that, they worked as a Shift Manager, Maintenance & Project Coordinator at Owens Illinois Americas South from 2002 to 2006. Vikas' earlier experience includes roles as a First Engineer/Senior Marine Engineer at Anglo-Eastern from 1997 to 2001 and as a Senior Marine Engineer at Wallem Maritime Services Inc. from 1991 to 1997.

Vikas Yadava, P.Eng. PMP. MBA. First Class PE/OE has a diverse educational background. Vikas obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Strategic Management from Wilfrid Laurier University between 2016 and 2020. Prior to that, they completed their Chief Marine Engineer degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from the Department of Transport in the United Kingdom in 2001. Additionally, they hold a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Sagar. In 2019, they also obtained a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification from QCDMS Consultants.

In terms of additional certifications, Vikas Yadava has a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification obtained in October 2013 from the Project Management Institute. Vikas also holds a First Class Power Engineer/Operating Engineer (Standardized) certification obtained in 2011 from the Technical Standards & Safety Authority (TSSA). Furthermore, they are a Professional Engineer (PE) certified by Professional Engineers Ontario since 2008. Lastly, they have JHSC certification 1 & 2, which has been issued by the Ontario Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development.
