Founder & CEO at Stelect

Elise Sutherland's work experience includes their current role as an Innovation Analyst at ahm Health Insurance, where they focus on solving customer problems in the health and wellbeing space. Prior to this, they founded and was the CEO of Stelect, a Melbourne-based medical technology company. At Stelect, they led the development of a novel sensor solution aimed at aiding clinicians in making more informed decisions for patient diagnosis and treatment. Elise also has experience with the University of Melbourne, where they serve as a member of the Industry Advisory Board and as an Honorary Research Fellow in the School of Biomedical Engineering. Additionally, they have held leadership positions as the Co-Chair and Committee Member of the Women in Engineering & IT Alumni Network at the University of Melbourne. Elise has further contributed to the field of biomedicine as an Alumni Ambassador for The University of Western Australia and as a participant in the MedTech Actuator program.

Elise Sutherland began their education at Penrhos College, where they completed their high school degree from 2005 to 2011. Afterward, they attended The University of Western Australia from 2012 to 2015, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. In 2013, they participated in an exchange program at the University of Glasgow. Elise then pursued their Master of Engineering degree in Biomedical Engineering with Business at the University of Melbourne from 2015 to 2017.
