Michael Newel

Michael Newel is a highly experienced optical and systems engineer with a strong background in product innovation and sales growth. Currently serving as the Lead Optical and Systems Engineer at StellarNet, Inc., since December 2021, Michael achieved an 8% growth in two years and tripled sales in Raman systems through new designs. Prior to this role, Michael worked as an Optical Engineer at Dimensional Energy, contributing to solutions for climate change, and as a Senior Scientist at Teleflex Incorporated, focusing on optical system design for critical care. Michael also has experience as the President of Mangrove Photonics, LLC, where custom electronics for spectroscopy were developed, and as a Business Development Manager at Gulf Photonics, Inc., where sales were tripled and ISO 9001 certification was obtained. Michael's career began as an Optical Engineer at Biolase Technology, developing medical laser systems. Michael holds both a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Electro-optical Engineering from the University of South Florida. Additional educational pursuits were undertaken at the University of Arizona and the University of Central Florida.
