Celeste Viljoen

Celeste Viljoen serves as the Vice Dean for Teaching and Quality Assurance in the Faculty of Engineering at Stellenbosch University since September 2009, where the Faculty employs around 150 academics and caters to approximately 4000 engineering students. With significant roles as Professor, Head of Structural Engineering and Informatics, and Director of the Institute for Structural Engineering, Celeste has contributed to the development of talent and diversity within the division, as well as strategic research support and financial management. Previous experience includes serving as a Structural Engineer at Element Consulting Engineers, focusing on the design and construction of reinforced concrete structures, particularly highway and railway bridges. Celeste holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Structural Engineering and a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering, both from Stellenbosch University.
