Matthew Fielies

Matthew Fielies currently serves as a Neurosurgery Registrar at Stellenbosch University since October 2020. Prior to this role, Matthew worked as a Medical Officer in Neurosurgery at Robert Mangaliso Sobukwe Hospital from January 2020 to October 2020 and completed a Community Service as a doctor in both neurosurgery and cardiothoracic surgery with the Northern Cape Department of Health from January to December 2019. Experience as a Medical Doctor Intern at the Department of Health Free State occurred from January 2017 to December 2018. Matthew's formative medical training includes elective placements in internal medicine and rural medicine at Stellenbosch University in 2015 and 2014, respectively. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from Stellenbosch University, completed in 2016, as well as earlier education at Stellenberg High School and Holy Cross Primary School.
