Melody Elizabeth Phiri

Melody Elizabeth Phiri is a seasoned professional in research ethics, currently serving as the Manager of Research Ethics (Social, Behavioural and Education Research) and Health Research Ethics Coordinator at Stellenbosch University since October 2018. Prior to this role, Melody held positions as Compliance Officer and Technical Officer at the Medical Research Council of Zimbabwe from June 2007 to October 2018. Educationally, Melody obtained a Master of Philosophy in Applied Ethics specializing in Bioethics from Stellenbosch University in December 2022, and also completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Health Research Ethics at the same institution between 2015 and 2016. Additionally, Melody acquired a Diploma in Clinical Trial Monitoring and Research Site Coordination from Kriger Research Centre in Canada in 2010 and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences and Geography from the University of Zimbabwe, earned from 2000 to 2003.
