Melissa Jawaharlal

CEO/Co-Founder at STEM Center USA

Melissa Jawaharlal has a wealth of experience in the STEM field. Melissa began their career in 2009 as a Research Engineer at the Space Engineering Research Center (SERC) at ISI. In 2010, they interned with Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems as an EO Sensor Design & Center Staff Intern. In 2011, they were a Resident Adviser at USC Residential Education, and also Co-Founded STEM Center USA, where they served as CEO/Co-Founder. In 2012, they were an Academic Contractor for the United States Air Force. From 2013 to 2017, they were a Mechanical Project Engineer at Raytheon. In 2018, they became a Femineer Master Teacher at Cal Poly Pomona College of Engineering. In 2017, they also began teaching two quarters of “ME 100L”, a Mechanical Engineering lab course required for all Mechanical Engineering Cal Poly Pomona students.

Melissa Jawaharlal began their educational journey in 2009 when they attended the University of Southern California. Melissa received a BS in Mechanical Engineering and Entrepreneurship in 2013. In 2011, they were a Visiting Student at The University of Edinburgh, where they studied Mechanical Engineering and French Language. Currently, Melissa is pursuing a Master of Business Administration - MBA at Claremont Graduate University, which they are expected to complete in 2023.
