Travis Jackson Block

A passionate scientist, inventor, and entrepreneur, Dr. Block is the co-founder of MonoMano Inc., San Antonio Science Inc, Et al BioCapital LLC, & Marinkovic & Block LLC.

While serving as Chief Operating Officer of MonoMano Inc. & President of San Antonio Science, Dr. Block completed his dissertation research in the laboratory of Dr. Xiao-Dong Chen at UT Health San Antonio. There, his research focused on characterizing cell-derived extracellular matrices (CELLvo™ Matrix) and on utilizing those matrices in a novel strategy to rejuvenate mesenchymal stem cell populations isolated from elderly donors.

Shortly after graduation, Dr. Block’s dissertation work was licensed by StemBioSys, and he joined the company as Senior Scientist. Dr. Block has been with StemBioSys since 2016 and currently serves as Chief Technology Officer. Dr. Block is a partner with Et al BioCapital LLC, a board member of CARTOX LLC (a StemBioSys subsidiary), and serves as adjunct faculty in the Dental School at UT Health San Antonio and in the College of Engineering at UT San Antonio.

Dr. Block holds a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Rochester, where he volunteers as a member of the Young Alumni Council, and a PhD from the joint biomedical engineering program at University of Texas Health San Antonio and University of Texas at San Antonio.
