Mei Yieng Chin

Mei Yieng Chin has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Mei Yieng started their career in 2000 as a Teaching Assistant/Tutor at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak. In 2004, they became a Lecturer at the same university and held that position until 2010. Mei Yieng then joined Vancouver Prostate Centre as a Senior Research Assistant/Lab Manager for Guns Lab, where they worked for nine years. In 2019, they transitioned to STEMCELL Technologies as a Senior Associate Lab Manager and later as a Team Lead, R&D Lab Operations.

Mei Yieng Chin holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences from Universiti Putra Malaysia, which they received in 2000. Mei Yieng then pursued a Master of Science degree in Cellular & Molecular Biology, Cancer Research from The University of British Columbia, completing it in 2004. In 2007, they obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching-Learning from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak. Recently, in 2018, Mei Yieng Chin earned a Certificate in Advanced Project Management from Langara College. In addition to their degrees, they have also obtained certifications in areas such as Biological Safety, Ethics, Privacy & Information Security, Transport of Dangerous Goods, Tri-council Policy Statement, Workplace Violence Prevention, and Bullying & Harassment Prevention.
