Teemu Leinonen

Teemu Leinonen is currently serving as the Vice Rector for research at the University of the Arts Helsinki, a position held since April 2024, where responsibilities include advancing research and doctoral education while fostering national and international collaborations. Simultaneously, Teemu Leinonen holds the title of Associate Professor at Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture, focusing on New Media, e-learning, and collaborative learning in both research and teaching. Previous roles include Vice Dean for research at Aalto University, acting head of the Media Lab Helsinki, and founding leader of the Learning Environments Research Group at the University of Art and Design Helsinki, where significant projects were led under European and UNESCO funding. Teemu Leinonen co-founded Co-learnit Ltd, aimed at enhancing online collaborative learning, and has contributed extensively as a researcher, writer, and editor in various capacities across academic and entrepreneurial institutions since 1998. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Arts in Design from Aalto University, Finland.
