Allan Powe

Allan Powe is a dedicated educator and experienced research scientist with a strong background in biology and science education. Currently serving as a Biology Teacher at Regis High School, Allan teaches introductory college-level biology to ninth graders and mentors twelfth graders in independent biology studies. Allan's experience includes roles as a Science Teacher at Hyde Leadership Charter School, where chemistry and AP seminar courses were taught, and as a STEM Education Consultant with Think Deep Consulting, designing engaging STEM curricula for middle school students. Prior research positions include impactful roles at Vertex Pharmaceuticals, Amicus Therapeutics, and other esteemed institutions, focusing on drug discovery and development for diseases such as cystic fibrosis and breast cancer. Allan holds a PhD in Biological Sciences from The Rockefeller University and a Master of Arts in Teaching from NYU Steinhardt School, alongside a BA in Biochemistry from the University of Pennsylvania.
