Fernand Brunschwig

Fernand Brunschwig has extensive experience in science education and leadership, currently serving as President of STEMteachersNYC since September 2011, where responsibilities include strategic planning, fund-raising, and staff supervision. Brunschwig previously held roles such as Founder and Executive Director of the organization, and was an Adjunct Professor at Teachers College, Columbia University, teaching physics content and pedagogy. Additional leadership positions include Chairman of Science Education at the New York Academy of Sciences and Professor (Emeritus) at Empire State College, where contributions involved founding faculty initiatives and developing educational programs. Brunschwig's teaching career began as a public science lecturer at the Lawrence Hall of Science and included positions at international schools in Switzerland and Rome. Educational qualifications encompass a PhD and MS in Science Education and Physics from the University of California, Berkeley, an MS in Computer Science from The City College of New York, and a BA and MAT in Physics from Harvard University.
