Eric Mitchell has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Starting in 2010, they worked as a Programmer & Associate Lighting Designer at Najafi Design Group, LLC. From 2013 to 2019, they ran their own business, Eric Mitchell Design, where they served as a Freelance Lighting Designer, Programmer, and Draftsman. During this time, they worked on various events, led crews, and implemented organizational standards for lighting infrastructure. In 2016, they also took on the role of Assistant to Lighting Design Faculty at Ithaca College Theatre Arts, where they led teams, collaborated with designers, and facilitated class demonstrations. Eric then worked as an Electrics Apprentice at The Santa Fe Opera in 2016, supporting lighting needs for operas. In 2019, they joined Berloni Theatrical Animals as an On-Set Animal Coordinator and Animal Handler, where they built relationships, managed accommodations and transportation for animals, and generated weekly reports. Most recently, they joined Steno in 2020, where they have held roles such as Production Assistant - Deposition Transcripts, Executive Project Manager, and currently serves as the Chief of Staff. At Steno, they have provided legal support, improved brand awareness and client satisfaction, and facilitated collaboration between departments.

Eric Mitchell obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree with a focus on Theatrical Production Arts; Design and a minor in Art History from Ithaca College. Eric pursued their studies at the college from 2013 to 2017.
