Gary Sinise is a prominent actor, musician, and philanthropist, best known for founding the Gary Sinise Foundation in June 2011, which supports veterans and their families. Since 2003, Gary Sinise has also performed as the bass guitarist for Gary Sinise & the Lt. Dan Band. A co-founder of the Steppenwolf Theatre Company since 1974, Gary Sinise has significantly influenced the theater scene. Additionally, from 2004 to 2013, Gary Sinise portrayed Detective Mac Taylor on CBS's CSI: New York. Sinise is an alumnus of Highland Park High School.
