Michael E. Flowers is a Member and Director of Diversity & Inclusion at Steptoe & Johnson. Prior to joining Steptoe & Johnson, they served as Vice President and Chief Legal Officer at KBK Enterprises from January 2008 to February 2016. In this role, they managed all of the legal aspects of a multi-state real estate development firm with projects valuing an aggregate in excess of $500 million underway in Pittsburgh, PA, New Orleans, LA, New York, NY, Columbus, Ohio, and Washington, DC. Michael also provided legal and strategic business advice to the CEO and other members of the senior management team. As City Executive of KBK, they provided leadership in the development of new business opportunities and acquisitions.

Flowers' duties and skills include contract drafting and negotiation, documentation of debt and equity financings, formation of business entities including joint ventures, structure and closing business mergers and acquisitions, overseeing and managing outside legal counsel in 6 states, advising the human resources department on employee matters, providing strategic business counsel to the CEO and other senior officers, advising the CFO and COO on compliance matters, assisting in the preparation of technology licensing agreements, and taking a leadership role on business development teams.

Michael E. Flowers began their educational career by completing a Minority Business Executive Program at The Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. Michael then went on to complete a Juris Doctor at The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law. After that, they completed a B.S in Accounting and Business Administration at [Bucknell University. Finally, they completed a Diploma at Wyoming Seminary in Kingston, PA.
