Mike Durham, SPHR, SHRM-SCP has over 30 years of experience in human resources. Mike is currently the Vice President of Human Resources for the Heavy Civil Division at Sterling Construction Company, Inc. In this role, they are responsible for overseeing all HR functions.

Prior to that, Mike worked as a Human Resources Manager at Garff Automotive Group, where they oversaw HR policies and initiatives for 750+ employees across multiple locations. Mike also developed a centralized recruiting system to enhance recruitment efficiency.

Earlier in their career, Mike served as a District Manager at Newspaper Agency Corporation and USA TODAY. In these roles, they gained experience in managing operations and leading teams.

Mike Durham's extensive experience and expertise in HR make him a valuable asset in supporting organizations' HR functions and ensuring compliance with labor laws.

Mike Durham, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, has a diverse education history. Mike completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Speech Communication from the University of Utah from 1992 to 1995. Prior to that, they attended Snow College from 1986 to 1987, where they studied Theatre Arts and Speech but did not obtain a degree. Mike completed their high school education at Olympus High School from 1983 to 1986.

In addition to their formal education, Mike has acquired several certifications. Mike became a State Certified Mediator in an unspecified year, and obtained an AVA Analyst Certification from Art Niemann & Company in 1999. More recently, Mike earned the SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) designation from SHRM in February 2015, and the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification from the HR Certification Institute (HRCI) in June 2013.
