Michael Kroupeev

Michael Kroupeev is a Russian business executive who currently serves as the Non-Executive Chairman at Sterling Energy Plc. Michael has over 25 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, and is considered one of the most successful businessmen in Russia.

Kroupeev began their career in 1993 as a Director at Dana Petroleum plc. Michael then joined Sibir Energy pls in 1998, where they served as Executive Director until 2000. In 2001, Kroupeev became the Chairman of Sterling Energy Plc, where they remained until 2017.

Kroupeev has been credited with turning around both Sibir Energy and Sterling Energy, and is widely respected for their business acumen and vision. Michael was instrumental in making both companies some of the most successful stories in the Russian oil and gas space.

Michael Kroupeev has a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from the London Business School and a Master of Science (MS) in Physics from Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia.
