Gaurav Sharma

Gaurav Sharma has over 17 years of work experience in the field of IT infrastructure, operations, and information security. Gaurav is currently working as the AVP of IT Infrastructure/Operations at Sterlite Power since July 2020. Prior to this, Gaurav was the Chief Information Security Officer and Solution Architect at Hindustan Times from December 2012 to July 2020. Gaurav also worked as a DGM at Huawei from July 2011 to October 2012. Before that, Gaurav held the position of Project Manager at IBM from March 2008 to July 2011, where they were responsible for managing a large portfolio of projects in the areas of Information Security, Systems Integration, Infrastructure, and Application Services. Gaurav also implemented project management/delivery frameworks and governance structures for the strategic outsourcing business. Gaurav has previous experience as the Manager of Information Security at GE Money from March 2006 to March 2008, and as the Information Security Manager - Operations at HP from November 2004 to March 2006. Gaurav began their career as an Assistant Manager of Information Security at Bharti Televentures Limited from July 2003 to November 2004, where they developed strategies and implemented security controls and practices.

Gaurav Sharma completed their PGDBM (Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management) degree in Business, Finance, and Marketing from the Institute of Management Technology in Ghaziabad from 2010 to 2012.

Prior to their PGDBM, they pursued a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Commerce from Delhi University between 1997 and 2000.

Before their undergraduate studies, Gaurav attended Jaspal Kaur Public School from 1991 to 1996, where they completed their Senior Secondary education with a focus on Science.

Additionally, Gaurav Sharma obtained a postgraduate degree in Computer and Information Systems Security/Information Assurance from Indira Gandhi National Open University. However, the start and end years for this degree are not provided.
