Chris Shemanski

Chris Shemanski serves as the Director of the First-Year Experience at Stevens Institute of Technology since March 2024. Previously, Chris held the position of Associate Director of Experiential Learning at NYU Stern School of Business from October 2022 to March 2024, and progressively advanced through various roles at Stevens Institute of Technology from November 2013 to October 2022, including Assistant Director of Core Engineering Education and Associate Director of Undergraduate Student Life. Earlier experience includes the role of Extended Orientation Graduate Assistant at Texas A&M University and an internship at the University of Texas at Arlington as a New Maverick Orientation NODA Intern. Chris is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Higher Education Leadership, Policy, and Management at Seton Hall University, following a Master of Science in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Government from Manhattan University.
