Mario Diaz de Leon is an accomplished music educator with extensive experience in music technology and composition. Currently serving as Assistant Professor of Music and Technology at Stevens Institute of Technology since August 2018, Mario teaches a range of courses including Electronic Music, Programming in Max, and Sound Recording, while also directing the SEMIA Lab. Prior to this role, Mario was a Lecturer in Music and Technology at Columbia University Computer Music Center and held the position of Core Postdoctoral Lecturer in Music Humanities at Columbia University, where emphasis was placed on inclusive syllabus design that featured diverse composers and critically addressed issues of race and gender in the music canon. Mario holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Music Composition from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Music in TIMARA from Oberlin College.
