Chris Barton

Divisional President at Steward Partners Global Advisory. He has worked in the financial services industry for over 25 years, spending the last 18 of those in senior leadership roles. Prior to joining Steward, Chris was an Executive Director and Complex Manager at Morgan Stanley in Dallas, TX. Before moving to Texas, Chris held a variety of management roles at Morgan Stanley/Smith Barney such as a Branch Manager in the Philadelphia markets, Assistant Branch Manager in Boston, MA, Assistant Divisional Director in NYC and Sales Manager in Florham Park, NJ. Prior to being promoted into management, Chris was a Financial Advisor for Smith Barney in NJ for over 5 years. Chris graduated from Syracuse with dual majors in Biology and Physiology and has lived in Dallas, TX for 12 years with his wife Maggie and two children.

Chris recently completed a three year term on FINRA’s District 3 Committee, comprising of Senior Registered Principals from multiple firms of size, representing the Texas, Florida and Louisiana region. He and his family have been involved in multiple local charities and organizations including The Family Place of Dallas, North Texas Food Bank and The OneMind Organization of Napa, CA.
