Michelle Chai

Michelle Chai is a Partner specializing in Litigation at Stewart McKelvey, a position held since June 2013. With expertise in areas including corporate-commercial litigation, insurance, personal injury, and intellectual property, Michelle has demonstrated significant legal acumen through notable representative matters, such as co-counseling a successful defense for a Nova Scotia corporation in a commercial arbitration and defending an insurer in a Supreme Court trial related to long-term disability benefits. Prior to the current role, Michelle served as a Senior Associate and Associate in Litigation. Additionally, Michelle has contributed to legal education as an Instructor for Civil Trial Practice at Dalhousie University’s Schulich School of Law, guiding law students in developing advocacy skills. Educational credentials include a Juris Doctor from Dalhousie University - Schulich School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from Queen's University.
