Chris Walton has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Chris most recently worked at Steyer Content as the Head of Visual Ethnography and Executive Producer - Visual Ethnography. Prior to that, they were the Owner of Visual Story Productions. Chris also worked at the South China Morning Post in various roles such as Photo Editor, Assistant Photo Editor/Sunday Morning Post Photo Editor, Columnist, Multimedia Producer, Features & Sunday Magazine Photo Editor, Writer, and Photo Researcher. Chris contributed to The Dataphile as a Contributor and Asian Newspaper Focus as a Contributing Editor. Chris also worked at Hungry Horse News as a Lead Photographer/Outdoors Writer and at The Missoulian as a Photographer/Darkroom Technician.

Chris Walton attended the University of Montana from 1988 to 1992, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Asian Studies. Additionally, in 1990, they obtained a Certificate in Chinese language and culture from Zhejiang University.
