Luis Varela has extensive work experience in R&D and product development within the chemical industry. Luis started their career in 1996 as an R&D Chemical Engineer at BF Goodrich and then joined BASF as a Research Associate Sr. in 1999. Luis then moved on to Hexion Inc. in 2013 as a Senior Product Development Chemist before transitioning to Synthomer in 2016 in the same role. Luis is currently working as the R&D Director at STI Polymer since May 2017.
Luis Varela has a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Polymer Science and Engineering from Lehigh University. Luis also has a background in Chemical Engineering from UNAM.
