Roel Barelds

Roel Barelds is a specialist in standards, currently engaged with ChipSoft since August 2023, focusing on the use of ZIBs and international standards in the healthcare platform HIX. Barelds has extensive experience in the healthcare IT sector, serving as a semi-retired consultant since June 2021, while actively participating as a board member and chair of the core team at Stichting HL7 Nederland since 2010. This role involves close collaboration with project groups to implement HL7 standards in the Netherlands. Additional experience includes contributions to various NEN working groups since November 2019, membership in OIZ's standardization and regulation working groups since February 2015, and prior positions as a senior subject matter expert at CareXS and product manager in interoperability and standardization at Tenzinger and ICT Automatisering. Educational qualifications include a degree in clinical chemistry from Haagsche Analisten School and a course in SNOMED CT from IHTSDO.
