‘Stichting Zeeschelp’ focuses on stimulating innovations in (marine) aquaculture. We do this by conducting our own research and by making our facilities available to entrepreneurs, scientists, and private individuals. We also collaborate with government, universities, companies, and foundations on various projects. Our building has an unlimited supply of fresh, high-quality seawater from the Eastern Scheldt and the diverse systems and climate rooms for cultivating and/or scaling up various aquatic species. Over the years, we have gained experience in cultivating microalgae, shellfish, crustaceans, echinoderms, fish, seaweed, and seagrass.

Besides projects in marine aquaculture, we also conduct ecological research projects in the waters of Zeeland and throughout the Netherlands by monitoring and collecting data in various habitats.
