Mary Willems-Akers

Mary Willems-Akers has a diverse work experience in the healthcare and social services sector. Mary began their career in 2003 as a Waiver Case Manager/Program Coordinator at Benchmark Human Services, where they worked until 2006. After that, they joined NORTHEAST INDIANA POSITIVE RESOURCE CONNECTION INC as a Care Coordinator from 2008 to 2012. In 2012, they worked as a Case Manager at Volunteers of America Ohio & Indiana before becoming the Director of Support Services at Stillwater Hospice, where they currently hold that position.

Mary Willems-Akers completed their Bachelor's of Science in Education at Bowling Green State University from 1999 to 2003. Following this, they pursued a Masters of Social Work at Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis from 2006 to 2009. In addition to their formal education, Mary obtained the Dare to Lead Trained certification from Dare to Lead™ Trained in November 2021.
