The Stimson Center
Austin Lord serves as a Senior Fellow and Nepal Lead for the Energy, Water, & Sustainability Program at The Stimson Center since June 2022, with previous roles as a Nonresident Fellow and Consultant in the same program. In addition, Austin is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Toronto's School of the Environment, actively engaged in research and organizing the Himalayan Climate Data Field Lab. A former Ph.D. candidate at Cornell University, Austin also designed undergraduate courses and led significant research initiatives related to climate change and disaster management. Contributions include serving as Social Science Team Leader for the Karnali River Corridor Conservation Project and co-founding Rasuwa Relief in response to the 2015 Nepal earthquake. Austin's academic background includes degrees from Dartmouth College, Yale School of the Environment, and Cornell University, highlighting a strong focus on anthropology, environmental science, and related fields.
