They served as a Missouri State Senator from 2000 to 2008, during which time they were elected President Pro Tem, the highest ranking legislator, in both 2005-06 and 2007-08. Michael's political journey also includes roles as a State Representative and a Councilmember in Kirkwood, Missouri. They earned a J.D. from Saint Louis University School of Law and a BA in Political Science from Westminster College.
