Richard Bethell

Richard Bethell's work experience begins in 1988 as a NATO Postdoctoral Fellow at Penn State University. Richard then worked at GlaxoSmithKline as a Group Leader from 1989 to 1999. Following that, they joined Pfizer Global Research and held the position of Research Manager from 1999 to 2000. Richard then worked at Shire Biochem Inc. as VP of Therapeutic Research from 2000 to 2004. From 2004 to 2013, they served as VP of Biological Sciences at Boehringer Ingelheim (Canada) Ltd. Richard then joined Medivir AB, where they held various roles including Executive Vice President of Discovery Research from 2013 to 2015, Executive Vice President of Research and Development from 2015 to 2016, and Chief Scientific Officer from 2016 to 2019. After that, they became the Chief Scientific Officer at BiVictriX Therapeutics Ltd from 2019 to 2020. Most recently, Richard has been working as the Chief Development Officer at Stipe Therapeutics since 2020 and as the Chief Executive Officer at Svenska Vaccinfabriken Produktion AB since 2022.

Richard Bethell attended the University of Cambridge from 1981 to 1984, but did not complete a degree. Richard then went on to study at the University of Oxford from 1984 to 1987, where they obtained a D.Phil. degree.
