James Rantanen

James Rantanen is a Principal iOS Engineer at Stitch Fix, where since October 2019, significant contributions have been made to iOS application and design system development, particularly enhancing user experience, accessibility, and feature development through the Stitch Fix design system. As Sole Proprietor of Escappe since June 2013, notable projects include the award-winning Serenitea app for iPhone and Apple Watch and the open-source ESCObservable library. Prior experience includes over nine years at Asynchrony Labs as a Senior Software Engineer & Team Lead, focusing on iOS, watchOS, and tvOS application development, while also collaborating with major brands and contributing to multiple open-source projects. Earlier roles include IT Analyst at AT&T and Developer at Synthesys Computer Solutions, with a foundational background in web programming and photo restoration. James Rantanen holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Digital Media from Greenville University.
