Marcus Carson is a seasoned academic and policy advocate with extensive experience in research and leadership. Currently serving as a Senior Research Fellow and Project Director for the Arctic Resilience Assessment at the Stockholm Environment Institute since 2012, Marcus has contributed significantly to environmental research. Previously, an Associate Professor at Stockholm University’s Department of Sociology from 2002 to 2010, Marcus engaged in both research and teaching in the field of political sociology, having obtained a PhD from the same institution. Earlier in the career, Marcus was the Executive Director of the Louisiana Health Care Campaign, advocating for healthcare policy reforms, and served as Political & Legislative Director for SEIU Local 100. Educational credentials include a BA in Psychology from Kalamazoo College.
