Mechanical Engineer at STOKE Space Technologies

Daniel Roche has been working in the field of mechanical engineering since 2004. Daniel began their career as an intern at Blue Origin, working on the 'Charon' Flight Vehicle. In 2005, they were hired on as a Senior Mechanical Systems Engineer for the 'New Glenn' Launch Vehicle. In this role, they designed and built a test stand for the development of cryogenic bearings and conducted preliminary design and development testing of a novel mechanism used to start the BE-4 turbopump. Daniel also supported the development of a high-speed gearbox for the start mechanism of the BE-4 engine. In addition, they served as the Cognizant Engineer for the Full Envelope Crew Escape System and was the project lead for the mechanically actuated control surfaces of the 'Houbolt' Flight Vehicle.

In 2019, they moved to Stratolaunch, where they worked as a Principal Mechanical Systems Engineer. In 2022, they joined STOKE Space Technologies as a Mechanical Engineer.

Daniel Roche attended Harvey Mudd College from 2001 to 2005, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering and Economics.
