Ed Castaneda

Ed Castaneda has a diverse work background with experience in software engineering and management roles. Ed is currently the Director of Software Engineering at Stoke Space since May 2023. Prior to this, Ed owned their own company called SubliminalEd Films starting in September 2021. Before that, they worked at OfferUp from June 2021 to April 2023 as a Sr. Software Engineering Manager (Data) and as a Software Engineering Manager - Data. From July 2016 to June 2021, Ed held various roles at Amazon, including Software Development Manager (Alexa) and Software Development Manager. Ed also worked at Allrecipes.com from April 2016 to July 2016 as a Software Engineering Manager. Prior to that, they were the Director of Software Engineering at Globys Inc from March 2015 to April 2016. Ed's longest tenure was at Allrecipes.com where they worked from October 2010 to March 2015, serving as a Software Engineering Manager and managing a cross-functional data science team. Ed started their career at Battelle Seattle Research Center in April 1999 and held the role of Senior Application Analyst until June 2009. At Battelle, they led various projects and was promoted multiple times, showcasing their expertise in software development, architecture, and leadership.

Ed Castaneda attended DeVry from 1997 to 2001, where they earned a BSCIS degree in Computer Information Systems. Following this, they pursued a master's degree in Computer Science from Franklin University, studying from 2001 to 2004. In April 2021, they obtained a certification in Filmmaking from the New York Film Academy.
