Kimberly Parkerson

Senior Vice President, Head Of Neurology Clinical Development at Stoke Therapeutics

Kimberly Parkerson has a wealth of experience in the medical field, specializing in neurology. Kimberly currently serves as the Vice President and Head of Neurology Clinical Development at Stoke Therapeutics since January 2022. Prior to that, they held the position of Senior Medical Director at Stoke Therapeutics from October 2020 to January 2022.

Before joining Stoke Therapeutics, Parkerson worked at Biogen as a Medical Director in their Emerging Neurosciences Research Unit from August 2018 to October 2020. Kimberly also served as the Associate Medical Director in the Acute Neurology Research Unit at Biogen from April 2017 to August 2018.

Parkerson has significant tenure at Tufts Medical Center, where they held various roles. Kimberly started as the Director of the Comprehensive Epilepsy Program in July 2010 and ended that role in April 2017. Kimberly then became the Director of the Neurology Residency Training Program from October 2013 to April 2017. Additionally, they worked as an Associate Physician at Tufts Medical Center from April 2017 onwards.

Parkerson also has teaching experience at Tufts University School of Medicine, where they served as an Assistant Professor of Neurology from July 2010 to April 2017.

Their medical training began at Harvard Medical School, where they completed their residency as part of the Partners Neurology Training Program from July 2006 to June 2009. Prior to that, they served as a Fellow in Clinical Neurophysiology at Harvard Medical School from July 2009 to June 2010. Earlier in their medical career, they worked as an Intern in the Department of Medicine at Harvard Medical School from June 2005 to June 2006.

Kimberly Parkerson has a comprehensive education history that includes various degrees and fields of study. From 1994 to 1997, they attended Louisiana Tech University, where they focused on Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering. Following this, from 1997 to 2004, they pursued their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. During the same period, they also obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Cell Biology from the same institution. Finally, in 2022, they enrolled at the Gies College of Business - University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign to pursue a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree, which they are expected to complete in 2025.
