Michael Oppel

VP - Government Guaranteed Lender (usda) at Stone Bank

Michael Oppel has a strong background in finance and lending. Michael has held various roles in different companies throughout their career. Michael started their career as a Decision Center Technician at Valdosta State University in 2008 and worked there until 2011. Michael then worked as a Manager at Business Bites from 2009 to 2013. In 2011, they joined Colony Bank as a Credit Analyst/Underwriter, where they were responsible for evaluating loan applications and performing collateral and appraisal reviews. In 2014, they became the Chief Financial Officer at Atlas Business Consultants Southeast, LLC, where they focused on underwriting SBA and USDA loans and analyzing credit spreads. Michael worked there until 2017 and then joined CBC National Bank as an AVP - USDA Lending. In 2018, they moved to Ameris Bank, where they held two roles: USDA Credit Analyst and Packager, and BDO - USDA Business & Industry and Community Facility; SBA 7(a). Michael worked there until 2020 when they joined Colony Bank as a VP - Business Development Officer SBA & USDA. In 2023, they joined Stone Bank as a VP - Government Guaranteed Lender (USDA).

Michael Oppel received their Bachelor's degree in Finance from Valdosta State University, where they studied from 2005 to 2011. Michael then pursued further education and obtained a Masters degree in Business Administration from Valdosta State University, completing their studies in 2012.

In addition to their formal education, Michael has also obtained several certifications. These include certifications in Sales Prospecting and Strategic Thinking from LinkedIn, obtained in February 2022. Michael also holds a certification in "15 Secrets Successful People Know about Time Management (getAbstract Summary)" from LinkedIn, obtained in January 2022.

In 2021, Michael obtained certifications in Building Relationships While Working from Home, Impromptu Speaking, and Finance Foundations: Risk Management, all from LinkedIn. In November 2020, they obtained a certification in Creating a Positive Customer Experience, also from LinkedIn.
