Robert McPherson has a diverse work experience in the legal and banking industry. Robert started their career as a Law Clerk at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency in 1980. Robert then worked as an Attorney at Glankler Brown PLLC, where they handled regulatory applications and approvals for various banking activities. Robert joined the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) as a Regional Attorney in 1986, providing legal counsel and assistance related to FDIC laws and regulations. After that, they served as the General Counsel at Commerce Capital Corporation, advising on product development, sales, and compliance. In 1988, they became a Partner at Golden & McPherson Law Firm before establishing their own private practice, McPherson Law Firm, in 1996. Robert specialized in business and banking law, assisting small and medium-size business owners in various legal matters. In 1996, they also joined NBC Capital Markets Group, Inc as an EVP, General Counsel, and Managing Director, where they led bank trust preferred securities and debt underwritings. Currently, they work as a Managing Director at StoneCastle Partners, LLC, focusing on investing in subordinated debt and other securities of community banks.

Robert McPherson's education history includes attending the BAI Graduate School of Bank Financial Management from 2001 to 2002. Robert then pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree at the University of Memphis Fogelman School of Business from an unknown start year to 1984. Prior to that, they obtained a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphries School of Law, where they studied from 1978 to 1981. Their undergraduate education was completed at the University of Alabama from 1971 to 1976, earning a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree with a dual major in Political Science and English. Robert has also obtained several certifications from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), including Series 24, Series 4, Series 55, Series 7, and Series 79.
