Elayna Kirsch

Elayna Kirsch is a Resident Doctor at Stony Brook Medicine, having held the position since June 2019. Prior to this, Elayna completed medical training at Duke University School of Medicine from July 2019 to June 2023, where Elayna earned a Doctor of Medicine degree. Elayna's medical research experience includes a role as a Research Associate at Yale New Haven Hospital, focusing on genetic risk factors related to intracerebral hemorrhage while working with critically ill patients in the Neurointensive Care Unit. Additionally, Elayna has been involved in undergraduate research at Duke University, studying neural mechanisms in the Human Performance and Optimization Laboratory, and volunteering at the Duke Children's Hospital, providing emotional support for pediatric patients. Early experiences include a summer internship at Northwell Health and a position at Nassau Ophthalmology Associates, where administrative and patient support tasks were performed. Elayna holds a Bachelor of Arts in Neuroscience from Duke University, completed in 2018.
