Michael Arens has an extensive work experience that includes roles in various organizations. Michael began their career in 2005 as the Long Island Regional Director for the New York State Senate. From there, they joined Brookhaven National Laboratory in 2010 as the Manager of State & Local Government Affairs. In 2012, they transitioned to Stony Brook University, serving as the Assistant Vice President for Government & Community Affairs for ten years. Currently, they hold the position of Chief of Staff to the Executive Vice President of Stony Brook Medicine since 2022.
Michael Arens holds a Master's Degree in Public Policy, which they obtained from Stony Brook University between 2016 and 2019. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Communications from Hofstra University from 1989 to 1991.
