Dr. Usama M. Shaikh currently serves as the Assistant Chief Diversity Officer at Stony Brook University since September 2022. Prior to this role, Dr. Shaikh was the Vice President for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and Title IX Officer at SUNY College at Old Westbury from July 2021 to September 2022, and previously held multiple positions at the same institution, including Vice President for Student Affairs and Chief Diversity Officer, and Assistant Vice President of Student Affairs. Dr. Shaikh has extensive experience in residential life, having worked as Director of Residential Life at Stevens Institute of Technology and as Assistant Director at Fairleigh Dickinson University, among other roles. Dr. Shaikh holds a Doctor of Education degree in Educational Leadership, Administration, and Policy from Fordham University, a Master's degree in College Student Counseling and Personnel Services from Penn State University, and a Bachelor's degree in History from Binghamton University.
