Ari Saavalainen

Ari Saavalainen is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in strategic asset development, project controlling, and business intelligence within the forest and process industries. Currently serving as a Senior Manager at Stora Enso since March 2018, Ari has led multiple projects including the O750 conversion project and has contributed to the Packaging Materials division's strategic initiatives. Previous roles include a Mill Controller at Stora Enso Varkaus Mills and Project Control Manager at Amec Foster Wheeler Energia Oy, where Ari developed skills in financial management, project scheduling, and coordination. In addition to current responsibilities, Ari holds a Board Member position at SP stainless Oy and has previously worked as a Product Manager at SSG Sahala Oy. Educational credentials include a Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering from LUT University and a Master’s Degree in International Economics from Paderborn University.
