Hans Sohlström has held various leadership roles throughout their career. From 1994 to 1998, they served as a Mill Director at United Paper Mills Ltd. Hans then joined UPM-Kymmene Oyj, where they worked from 1998 to 2012, first as Vice President and later as Executive Vice President.
In 2012, Sohlström became the President and CEO of Rettig Group, a Finnish family-owned company specializing in heat emitters, indoor climate control systems, industrial shipping services, and limestone-based products. Hans held this position until 2016.
Additionally, Sohlström served as the Chairman of the Board for Rettig ICC bv, Oy Nordkalk Ab, Oy Bore Ab, and Oy Thunship Ab during their time at Rettig Group.
In 2016, Sohlström took on the role of President and CEO at Ahlström Capital, a Finnish family investment company. Hans also served as the Chairman of the Board and Board member for Ahlstrom-Munksjo, Enics, and Destia during this period.
From 2018 to 2022, Sohlström served as President and CEO of Ahlstrom, during which time they significantly increased the Group's net sales and Comparable EBITDA.
Currently, Sohlström is President and CEO at Stora Enso, a position they have held since September 2023. Hans also serves as a Board Member at Uponor.
Hans Sohlström earned a Master of Science (tech.) degree in Corporate Strategy and International Marketing from Teknillinen korkeakoulu-Tekniska högskolan between 1984 and 1989. In addition, they also completed a Master of Science (econ.) degree in Corporate Finance and Business Administration at Hanken School of Economics from 1986 to 1989.
