Jori Hurula, an experienced HR Leader, joined the global IT and consulting company Accenture in 2016. Starting as an HR Generalist, he later became an HR Technology Consultant, mastering various HR areas. Jori worked on designing and implementing HR processes within Workday HRIS for major global clients, gaining significant international experience and exposure. Later, he served as the Nordic HR Lead for Accenture Technology’s largest business unit in the Nordics, overseeing 800+ employees and managing a team of 6 HR Partners. He was also a key member of the executive leadership teams within the business units. Jori received excellent feedback and recommendations from executive business leadership, his team members, managers, and colleagues for his sharp business acumen, leadership skills, ability to lead transformations, and being a trusted advisor and easy-going colleague.
In his most recent role, Jori works for the global forest company Stora Enso, which has 21,000+ employees, as an HR Director. He leads the People Support & Training team, covering Finland, Sweden, and Poland, overseeing 12,000+ employees and managing a team of 10 HR professionals. Previously, he served as the People Advisory Lead, supervising 15 senior HR professionals. As Stora Enso has shifted its operating model and embraced digitalization, Jori has successfully led HR teams in implementing a new service model, supporting employees and managers across various countries, and driving the transformation journey.
Jori Hurula holds a Master's degree in Leadership and Management from the University of Jyväskylä, with additional studies in psychology and finance. He also completed a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Business Administration and Management from the same university. Jori has obtained several certifications, including Strategic HR Advisor from the Josh Bersin Academy, Workday for Accenture All-Star from Accenture, Become an HR Business Partner from LinkedIn, and Workday HCM from Workday. Recently, he spoke at the HR Strategy Talk 2024 event in Finland.
Jori is driven by providing true value to businesses as an HR Leader, continuously improving and leading through people, and creating a psychologically safe work environment. He aspires to gain even broader responsibilities within executive HR leadership roles, such as CHRO or HR Director, in various industries, driving change through successful employee experiences and processes.
